A sounding board when you need one
Some thoughts only make sense once you say them out loud. When you need someone to bounce ideas off, talk through a decision, rehearse a hard conversation or practice your English, a verified listener can be your sounding board for 15 minutes.
18+ · remote · not therapy
A good sounding board does not take over. They ask a question, reflect back what they heard and let you reach your own conclusion. Because a listener is neutral — no stake in your job, family or business — it is easier to be honest.
Talk through a decision
Should you take the job, move, go back to school, end the relationship, start the business? Laying out the options to an outsider can show you which one you are already leaning toward.
Rehearse a hard conversation
Asking for a raise, setting a boundary with a parent, confronting a friend, coming out, ending a relationship — practice it first. Tell the listener what you want to say and ask them to play along.
Practice English conversation
If you are learning English, a 15-minute voice or video session is a relaxed way to practice everyday conversation with a fluent speaker. Listeners are not language teachers, but they are happy to chat at your pace.
