Talker guide

Someone to talk to about life changes

Big changes — even good ones — can leave you unsteady. Moving to a new city, starting college, retiring, kids leaving home, coming out, leaving the military. A verified listener can be someone steady to talk to while everything else is shifting.

18+ · remote · not therapy

Life transitions often come with a gap: the old routine is gone and the new one has not formed yet. That is exactly when people tend to feel homesick, lost or lonely, and when a short conversation can help.

New places and new chapters

New in town with no friends yet. Homesick at college or studying abroad. A new country, a new job, a new identity. Talking to someone about the change — the excitement and the loneliness — can make it feel less heavy.

Milestones and identity

Turning 30, 40, 50 or 60. A quarter-life or midlife crisis. Coming out, or questioning. Veterans moving into civilian life and military spouses holding things together through deployment. LGBTQ+ talkers can read bios to find listeners who chose identity or belonging as a conversation type.
